Burton Heads Back Home

RICHMOND, Va. - To Jeff Burton, Richmond International Raceway may be as perfect a spot on the NASCAR schedule as they come.

The .75-mile track provides side-by-side racing and the kind of short track action drivers and fans seem to love.

And oh by the way, did we mention Richmond also happens to be in Burton's home state of Virginia?

"I just think for the teams, for the fans and for everybody that it takes to make this sport work, it’s the best all-around track," Burton said. "Richmond has good racing action. It’s big enough where it’s not wreck after wreck but small enough where it’s close side-by-side action since you have multiple grooves. To me, it’s a really hard race track to beat, competition-wise.”
