Hey fans!
Well, it's that time of year again! The Bristol race is here and I'm pumped. Last year during the spring race, Kyle Busch and I battled down the stretch and he edged me out by the skin of his teeth to take the checkered flag.
Since then, they've put a new surface down on the track. We raced on it last fall and I happen to think it's pretty good. It's helping to cut down on the amount of wrecks while making side-by-side racing easier. That makes the action a lot better and more exciting. They made a step in the right direction for sure when they added the new surface. Read More...

Burton tired of being close - Time growing short for veteran driver to win title
By Jeff Birchfield
Press Sports Writer

Jeff Burton doesn’t need to hear the famous Marlon Brando line, “I could have been a contender.”
The South Boston, Va., driver has been a contender throughout his NASCAR career. His goal is now to become a Sprint Cup champion.
Burton’s No. 31 Richard Childress Racing team made great strides from 18th-place point finishes in 2004 and ’05 series to qualify for the Chase each of the last two seasons. However, year-end point finishes of seventh and eighth fell short of Burton’s ultimate goal. Read More...

Five Good NASCAR Role Models
Thompson in Turn 5 · Tommy Thompson · Wednesday March 12, 2008
It seems like every couple of weeks during the season, the headline the day after a Sprint Cup event announcing the race winner is shared by either the newest physical altercation, one driver “trash talking” another, or unnecessary rough driving being committed by a competitor. Although I do believe NASCAR attempts to keep behavior at an “acceptable” level, I am not naive enough to understand that the sanctioning body knows a little public controversy can be good, as long as people spell the name right (note to the stick and ball reporters out there: it’s spelled N-A-S-C-A-R). Anyways, as long as I hold onto that belief, it makes it easier for me to understand why the sport does not put a stop to about 90% of such shenanigans. It certainly is not because they the sport is helpless to reign in their “bad actors.” We all know they can do that! Read More...

Jeff's ATL post race quote
JEFF BURTON, NO. 31 AT&T IMPALA SS Finished 10th:
"For the majority of the race we were really, really loose. The AT&T Chevy was all over the place. We made adjustments throughout the race and nothing really seemed to work. We were tight for a little bit towards the end of the race, which we seemed to be our best. On the last restart we put on a set of tires that didn't help the handling of the car. It was a good points day for the AT&T Racing team and we'll keep digging and doing our homework." Read More...
