Jeff Burton is growing accustomed to the view from atop the Sprint Cup Series points standings.

He has been No. 1 since the race at Martinsville, Va., on March 30 and heads into Saturday's Crown Royal 400 at Richmond International Raceway with a 22-point lead over Kyle Busch.

Current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader and safety advocate, Jeff Burton, helped install an additional 340 feet of SAFER barriers at Lowe's Motor Speedway today. In preparation for the May 17 Sprint Cup All-Star Race and the track classic Coca-Cola 600 on May 25, Burton assisted Lowe's Motor Speedway President, Humpy Wheeler, in placing the first new section of the steel/foam combined energy-reducing barriers along the 1.5-mile track's backstretch.
